In 1956 Chicago, Leonard Burling (Mark Rylance) is an English cutter who runs a bespoke tailor's shop in a neighbourhood controlled by the mob. Almost solely patronised by the local gangsters, he must tread a careful path when suspected of selling out to a rival gang and the FBI. With a typically calm, cool performance from Rylance, this is an engaging film, which starts slowly but soon builds into a gripping story of violence and pure evil.
