Set in rural Italy in the 1980's, La Chimera tells the story of Arthur (Josh O'Connor), a one-time archaeologist who, recently released from prison, reconnects with his wayward crew of 'tombaroli', looting Etruscan tombs and selling the ancient treasures they dig up. Arthur, searching for his lost love Benjamina, is the melancholy heart of a film, which blends fantastical elements with human experience and tremendous visual and narrative beauty.
