Hit the Road

The story follows a family making a tense, hot, uncomfortable road trip in a borrowed car through remote north-western Iran, heading for the Turkey/Azerbaijan border. They get on each other's nerves, fussing over their sick dog but the delicate balance between heartbreaking sadness and humour is handled flawlessly, with memorable performances from a very talented cast. Humour, well chosen music and great writing help to balance out the darker undertone of the reason for their journey
