After her mother's death, Georgie, a dreamy 12-year old girl, lives happily alone in her London flat, filling it with magic. Several amusing incidents show how she manages to conceal her situation from the authorities. The film really gets going when, unexpectedly, the father she has never met turns up and forces her to confront reality as they work out how they can come to terms with each other. Lola Campbell, as Georgie, gives a tremendous performance.
