Named after the city of his birth, 'Belfast' is Kenneth Branagh‘s most personal and affecting film yet. A semi-autobiographical film which chronicles the life of a working class family and their young son Buddy’s childhood in late sixties Belfast. The film follows Buddy as he navigates a landscape of struggle and sectarian violence. He dreams of a future far away from the troubles, supported by his loving Ma and Pa and fun-loving grandparents.
